On the Road to Charleston, SC

I woke up on March 15 bright and early, but I can't complain when I'm going on vacation. We left the stubborn winter home and we're heading to sunnier places: Charleston, South Carolina! I'll show you through pictures how our trip there was, many miles away. :-) Let's begin...

The first picture is a bit unclear, but it showcases perfectly how we felt at that hour, about 6 AM. A little sleepy, but very excited to race the sunrise.

Other people on the road just like us.

The first big city on our way.

My favorite picture of the day. If you like heights (or don't hate them ^_^), you can fly in a balloon. I've done it and it was wonderful. I admit I was a bit nervous at first, wondering if I'd ever land safely, but everything went without a hitch. I highly recommend such an experience!

Getting close to the mountains!

I couldn't resist taking a selphie so you don't think I'm lying. ;-)

On the highway!

Getting closer and closer to the mountains and their shades of blue. Smoky Mountains!

I've seen motorcycles on the highway before, but never these 3 wheelers. Interesting!

Approaching a tunnel. The guy up front in the light car got disoriented or something and almost hit us when we tried passing in the tunnel, swerving in our lane. Nothing happened, but it pays to pay attention to what others are doing while driving!

Almost in South Carolina after many hours of driving. It got a bit cloudy, but the temperatures went up and that's all I care about! :)

Exiting the mountains.

Almost at our destination!

The time will come when we'll be greeted by green trees. Until then, at least it's more than 40 degrees! :) I hope you enjoyed the virtual trip to South Carolina. I'll soon have another post with what I found in Charleston!
